St. Bridget School is preparing to begin our Christmas Outreach Program for another year. In a spirit of love, our school family wishes to share our abundance by helping families less fortunate than ourselves.

We ask that everything be brought in by December 9th.

More details can be found in the information flyer being sent home in backpacks with your children today. Thank You!!

From the Library:

The Student Council of Saint Bridget School has designed a new fun logo for our school and have had it re-created on T-Shirts, Hooded Sweatshirts and flannel Pajama Bottoms just in time for the gift giving season! (see the attached flyer for a picture). The T-Shirt for Grades 6,7,8 is dark green, for Grades K1-5 it is yellow. It may be worn on Gym days (along with the 50th Anniversary T-Shirt). The dark green Hooded Sweatshirt may also be worn on gym days in place of the uniform sweatshirt. The flannel Pajama Bottoms, green/yellow plaid, should be saved for Spirit “dress down” Days (not to be worn on gym days)  So, take a look at the flyer for sizes, prices and directions for ordering. The deadline for ordering is Friday, December 4th, with checks made out to Saint Bridget School.

IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!

Please come for as long or as little as you like. Younger siblings are welcome although babysitting is not provided. Please join us if you can…you will be glad you made time in your busy schedule to witness the true spirit of giving this Christmas

RED CROSS BABYSITTER's TRAINING -- To help keep children of all ages safer in Metrowest,  the Longfellow Club in Wayland is proud to offer the Babysitter's Training course from the American Red Cross. The class, which will meet Friday December 4, 6 pm to 9 pm and Saturday December 5, 1pm to 6 pm., gives youth ages 11 to 15, the skills and confidence to be great babysitters.
Used to train and certify over 120,000 babysitters nationwide each year, the Red Cross Babysitter's Training course is fun and fast-paced with hands-on activities, role-plays, and lively discussions.
The course teaches young people how to:
" Supervise children and infants
" Perform basic child-care skills such as diapering, feeding and dressing
" Choose safe, age-appropriate games and toys
" Identify safety hazards and prevent injuries
" Care for common injuries such as burns, cuts and bee stings
" Communicate effectively with parents
" Find and interview for babysitting jobs
For more information or to register for the Babysitter's Training course please contact The Longfellow Club at 508-358-7355, or email Cordelia Lydon at Longfellowswim@gmail.com

FYI: Snow Days, Mr. Rick Gallagher, Director of School Transportation, relying largely upon the Dept. of Public Works and the Police Dept., as well as personal observations, will relay by telephone, the condition of the roads, sidewalks and parking areas at the schools to Dr. Steven Hiersche, School Superintendent. The Superintendent will make the decision and notify the school principals and the media. If the radio and television say there is no school in Framingham Public Schools, that means there is no school at St.Bridget’s.

The only circumstances under which Mrs. Mungovan would make the decision to close the school would be in an emergency specific to St. Bridget School.

In case of snow please do not call
St. Bridget School. We will use our IRIS (Emergency Response System) to notify all families by telephone. Also you can check the radio and television for the announcement regarding Framingham Public Schools.” As far as calling school during the day, the same procedure is followed. Since we depend on the school buses, it is the school bus director and the Superintendent of Schools who make that decision and tell us, again we would use the IRIS telephone system to notify you.

Every parent should feel free to determine for themselves whether or not their child should come to school when the weather is questionable.
