Nov 19^th Open House for Prospective Parents, 7pm

GRANDPARENTS/SPECIAL PERSONS DAY is this Friday November 6^th. This day is for Grandparents/Special Persons ONLY, NO PARENTS OR SIBLINGS. Parents will be invited to their own open house during Catholic Schools Week the first week of February.
The schedule will be as follows:
Grades 1-4, 8:30-9:30;
Grades K1,K, 5-8, 9:45-10:45.

SCHOOL PICTURES: If you wish re-takes or need to have pictures taken for the first time because the children were absent on the original picture day, picture re-takes have been scheduled for Wednesday, November 4th. If you are having re-takes taken please make sure the children have their original package of pictures with them the day of re-takes. If you are having first time pictures, the original form is needed.

Friday is the First Friday of the month, and as usual, we will be collecting non-perishable food for the Food Pantry. They have asked that along with the regular items we include some Thanksgiving and Christmas specialty items, i.e. Coffee, Tea, Cookies, Candy, Hot Chocolate and juices. As always, we will gladly accept food and paper goods every day this week. Thanksgiving donations should be in by November 12^th. The Student Councilors will bring the items over to the Food Pantry in the name of Saint Bridget School students. Because the holiday season is upon us any and all contributions to the Food Pantry will be accepted on an ongoing basis for the months of November and December. Thank you for your generosity!

Saint Bridget families and friends! On Wednesday, Nov 18^th, the 8^th Grade at Saint Bridget School will be presenting our annual International Dinner fundraiser. We will be decorating the cafeteria, preparing and serving food as well as providing music and crafts from INDONESIA. Tickets will go on sale today, Monday, Oct 26, prices are: $12 Adults, $9 children.

From the Library:

Boxtops for Education and Campbell’s Labels for Education: I have just made our fall submission for Boxtops for Education which totaled $376.OO, and will, in the next month, send in the Campbell’s Labels proofs of purchase. Thank you all for helping with these two simple fundraisers for the Library. Please keep clipping and sending them in.
The Wall of Great American Readers: We have four new stars on our Wall of Great American Readers —Kaitlin Benton and Tara Polackal, Jyothy Polackal and Britney Kirwan have read and completed the bookmark book reports for the four titles for grades 2-3. Good job.
Book It! It is time to turn in your October Book It! Calendar page. The November pages went home last week.
Book Club News: The following students/families have recently donated books to the school’s Library: the Brady Family, the Fonseca Family, Conor Hickey, the Erath Family, the Michaud Family, and Jenna McCarthy. Thank you all for the wonderful titles. If you would like to donate a book and have it bookplated with your child’s name, check out the Giving Tree for some title suggestions.

News from the Admissions Office:

I am still in need of parents and students to help with the Thursday, November 19^th Open House. It will run from 7:00pm – 8:30pm. Students volunteering from the 8^th grade class will receive community service hours for helping. Thanks so much for your cooperation and support, Jenifer Ryan

Attention all 7^th and 8^th graders

St. Bridget School will be offering a wonderful experience to any young musicians in the 7th or 8th grade. The Eastern Junior Districts Festival will begin with auditions on Saturday, January 30 at Concord-Carlisle High School. St. Bridget students will audition at 2pm. There are five junior district ensembles: Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band, Mixed Chorus SATB, and Treble Chorus SSA. Both boys and girls are eligible to audition for the Soprano and Alto parts. Each registered participant will receive an adjudication and the top performers will be invited to rehearse and perform together in a final concert. Students will be selected from all parts of Eastern Massachusetts so it is a potentially very exciting experience for our students. The cost is $15/student for the audition and all of the information is available on the website: http://www.mmeaeasterndistrict.org/ Payment of $15 should be made payable to St. Bridget School and submitted to the school by December 10. Please mark "Attention: Debra Parker" on the envelopes and let me know via email or phone if your child is planning to audition. It is important that you check the website now for audition requirements as your child will want to be well prepared for the audition. Again, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

We have a DVD of last year's concert so if anyone would like to see/hear this, they are welcome to borrow it. Let's have a wonderful showing from St. Bridget School!
