PTO ITEMS:

Junior Achievement - Our school will once again participate in the JA program for grades 4-8 this year.  It is time to send out a "call for volunteers".  If you are not familiar with the program you may visit their website at www.ja.org .  From their website: "Junior Achievement is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students in grades K-12 about entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs."  In short, we ask volunteer parents to come into classrooms and using a ready made "kit" provided by JA, guide the students through the program.  The teacher stays in the classroom, but the volunteer runs the program.  Parents and students alike have loved the program and the unique opportunity it presents.  To volunteer you do not need any teaching experience just enthusiasm.  The kits have everything you will need.  The time commitment is approximately 30 min prep time and 45 min in the classroom.  The program will start in January and will run 5 weeks for 4th and 5th grade, and 6 weeks for the middle school.  If you are interested in volunteering please contact Mary Ann Sager at masager5@yahoo.com or 508-872-4989 as soon as possible.
