Principal's Jan, 2010 Letter

Jan. 11, 2010

Jan. 11 , 2010

Dear Parents:

Happy New Year!!!

Our students and teachers returned with smiles from a well deserved rest and time away from school. The cold, crisp air lends itself to being alert and ready to learn new things as we continue our education journey.  Now, it is time to begin a new year.

The virtue for the month of January is perseverance.  We are beginning a new year and hope to persevere in all we do.

NEWS:

  1. St. Bridget School is proud to have Monique Dini (mother of Mia, Gr 4) serving in Iraq.  Her National Guard unit was deployed last Friday.  Each day our students pray for the soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan – Ms. Dini will be specifically named as well.  During the year she is deployed our students will be sending her cards, notes, pictures and prayers.
  2. Today St. Bridget School welcomed nine Korean students to our school.  Staying with 5 host families, there are three students in Grade 5, one in Grade 7, and five in Grade 8. They will be students here until February 12th.   We are excited to welcome these students and grateful to the host families for making this endeavor possible.

January is a very busy month as we work towards the second half of the school year.  There are few interruptions in January and the teachers use this valuable teaching time to move forward in their curriculum.

At the end of the month we look forward to Catholic Schools Week and our Open House events for prospective parents and you, our current parents.  Please mark your calendar and make an effort to be with us on the morning of Wednesday, February 3rd from 8:30 – 9:45 am.

Our new student registration is off to a great start.  Our first K1 and K screening is today, January 11th and our next is on March 8th.   Your positive reflections about St. Bridget School are our best advertisement.  Please continue to spread the good news about our wonderful school.

I send my best wishes to you for a prosperous and healthy New Year.

God Bless You,

Mrs. Roseanne Mungovan

Principal
